Liz Seddon
is co-founder of the school. Her interest in astrology started when, as a teenager, she used to read her mother’s astrology books. She and Roy teach the Interpretation class. Liz is keen to bring astrology to the attention of those who seek to develop an interest that befits the 21st century, devoid of irrelevancy, which can be seen to encumber other teaching institutions. She is interested in the asteroids and the centaurs in particular, and teaches the Intermediate class.
Liz is a keen amateur astronomer with her own telescope and has membership of both the Bristol Astronomical Society and the Astrological Association of Great Britain.
She was secretary of the Bristol Astrological
Group for some years. It was during this time that she saw the need for tuition and the concept of the Astrological School started to take shape.
Liz lectures on astrology and has been interviewed on local radio.
Roy MacKinnon
is co-founder of the school. He is responsible for teaching the Advanced class, and is particularly interested in presenting an outlook on astrology incorporating recent astronomical discoveries in a manner relevant to the new millennium.
Having bought his first astrology book forty years ago, he has been a professional astrologer since 1983. He is interested in devising new astrological techniques, which hopefully will be published in the near future.
Roy became a member of the Bristol Astrology Association in 1985, and was instrumental in its continuation in the 1990s, out of which emerged The Bristol Astrological Group, where he held the position of Chairman.
He has lectured on astrology in both England and Wales, including Oxford University, and has appeared on local radio and television.
Chris Mitchell
is a Diploma holder who is responsible for teaching the Foundation Correspondence course. Chris is also the school’s web site co-ordinator, and was instrumental in setting up Bristol’s astrology group, Arcturus Rising. Chris is on the Council of the Astrological Association of Great Britain, a member of NCGR and ISAR, holds a diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos,
and is currently studying for an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at Bath Spa University College.
Chris is a regular speaker at astrology events across the UK, and has appeared on local radio and in the press.
